Plein Air Wyoming 2008
Friday, August 01, 2008 at 9:00 AM
We are delighted to announce a new Plein Air event for your calendar - the Wyoming Plein Air. This new Plein Air event is a partnership between the Link Gallery and Deselms Fine Art in Cheyenne and we aim to make this inaugural national painting event one of the largest painting events and art exhibitions of its kind in Wyoming and, eventually, in the Rocky Mountain Region. We are now accepting 2008 Event entries for the selection process and attach our call for entries.
This year we are looking for approximately 60 artists who paint "en plein aire" to participate in this major outdoor painting event this summer in Downtown Cheyenne and across Wyoming. The diverse subject matter will include historic buildings, botanical gardens and other local scenes of interest as well as the prairies, deserts and mountains of the wild places, the National Forests and the National Parks.
We already have sponsorship and awards totaling some $5,500 lined up including an award for excellence from our major sponsor, Southwest Art, who is giving a ½ page ad worth $2,500 to the first prize winner. We have further sponsiorship and awards in the pipeline and we also plan social events for the artists. Further information is presented in the attached application form.
We hope you will be as excited as we are about this new event. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions and we look forward to receiving your application.

Sedona Plein Air Festival
Sunday, October 19, 2008 at 9:00 AM
SEDONA PLEIN AIR FESTIVAL is a celebration of Sedona's extraordinary beauty as seen through the eyes of 30 of the finest plein air painters in the country. The weeklong festival will feature these painters all over town - on the streets, trailheads, creeks and vistas - capturing the beauty of the Sedona area on canvas. "En plein air," French for "in the open air," is a spontaneous art form with artists creating outdoors, responding to the immediacy of the moment and reflecting the excitement of the changing light, weather conditions and deepening shadows on canvas.

Sonoma Plein Air
Monday, May 04, 2009 at 9:00 AM
Sonoma Plein Air is a weeklong event celebrating the century-old technique of outdoor painting. The Sonoma Plein Air event raises funds to support art education programs for children in Sonoma Valley.
The Sonoma Plein Air Foundation, a non-profit all volunteer organization, presents this annual event that is designed to be casual, interactive and educational.
This juried event brings nationally recognized plein air artists to Sonoma for a week of painting the inspiring landscapes of Sonoma Valley. Whether it is the magnificent green hills with giant oaks, grazing sheep and cows, winding roads, picturesque villages, or the colors and scents of wildflowers---Sonoma Valley in spring is paradise for plein air artists.
Sonoma Plein Air 2009 begins on Monday, May 4th, when artists arrive in Sonoma. Participating artists wishing accommodations will be assigned to private homes for their six-day stay. They are treated to several gourmet lunches at painting locations. Artists paint throughout the week in Sonoma County. There is no public access during this time.
